The garden of our buy to sell project – what a jungle!
Today Sam Ferrington and I got started our buy to sell project in Leeds. Our first job was to clear the garden. We’d done our homework before we bought the place so we knew that our garden was pretty big. However, it was so overgrown with brambles, weeds and bushes that we didn’t really know just how big it was.
After a whole day of hacking and trimming by our landscaping contractors, we were delighted to get our first glimpses of the garden in its entirety.
We still have a load more work to do, but at least we can now see what we’ve got. Given that this is a buy to sell project, our plan is create a low maintenance garden that looks fantastic. We’ll do this by trimming the conifers back to the fence line and moving the existing privet and hazel trees into better positions. We will fence round the garden to make it safe for little ones to play in and we’ll level it off. Most of the garden will be turfed, but we will leave flower beds down one side to make it easy for the new owners to plant their favourite plants. Outside the new extension we will lay an Indian stone patio which will be big enough for seating and a BBQ.
However, all that is for the future. The next steps are to get into the house and to start ripping it out.
